Messtrument

Consisting of a close-circuited array of transmitters, receivers, microphones and other electronics, the messtrument is a feedback-driven platform (rather than instrument) for performing alone or in the context of ensembles. Based on the idea of improvising with the sounds and acoustics of a particular site, the messtrument is more than a noise generator as it uses the aether as it 'mixing console'. Being a very fragile yet modular system, the messtrument has been tested in different contexts including experimental trio squetti (echomusic), Iran-UK sonic ensemble (British Council, Six Pillars) and  Relentless.
